Jon Cryer Reveals New Details Of ‘Two And A Half Men’ Return

“Two and a Half Men”Caption “Two and a Half Men”

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Just call him Doctor Love!

As “Two and A Half Men” continues production on its first season without Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen), Jon Cryer has revealed that his character, Alan Harper, is about to start dishing out romantic advice to newcomer Ashton Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt — really.

“There’s obviously big change in the dynamic with Ashton, in terms of what that creates in my character. I can only say my character ends up being the more romantically experienced one of the two of them,” Cryer told Entertainment Weekly. “Alan becomes sort of a mentor character to Ashton’s character… I’m a terrible mentor. And that’s where a lot of the fun of the show comes from.”

In the new interview, Cryer shared new details about the retooled “… Men,” which moved on with Kutcher after the very-public exit of Sheen earlier this year.

It had been widely reported that Sheen’s character would die in the first episode back, followed by a lavish funeral, and Cryer explained how Alan and his son, Jake Harper (Angus T. Jones), end up living in his late brother’s house, with internet billionaire Walter.

“All of us on the set keep referring to the first episode back as the ‘pilot’ by mistake. [Showrunner] Chuck [Lorre] and I were standing around joking about trying to pitch this show and how ridiculous it would sound to a development executive: ‘The guy’s been divorced and his brother just passed away, but he meets this billionaire with a broken heart and…’ It’s like, I would never buy that show,” Cryer said, “But it’s working amazingly well.”

While Sheen is gone, references to Charlie Harper will be peppered throughout the season, Cryer seemed to suggest.

“It’s not, ‘Oh, that character’s gone, let’s forget completely about him,’” Cryer said. “There will be ramifications all through the season. We’re not taking this into a new universe where the first show didn’t exist.”

“Two and A Half Men” returns to CBS on September 19 at 9/8 C.

Shawn Stockman’s ‘Sing-Off’ Blog- Balancing Work & Family-_790

Shawn Stockman’s ‘Sing-Off’ Blog: Balancing Work & Family

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Shawn Stockman of Boyz ll Men attends the 137th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs inin Louisville, Kentucky, on May 7, 2011Caption Shawn Stockman of Boyz ll Men attends the 137th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs inin Louisville, Kentucky, on May 7, 2011My life has been a roller coaster these days! This is the most busy, most hectic, and most emotional I have ever been!

As much as I love being a judge on the show, it can wear me down sometimes to know that a group that you know works hard and has the potential of being something great, has to leave because, well, it wasn’t as great as it needed to be to stay in the race.

Deliberations are tough, and between Ben, Sara and myself, we can really feel the pressure. But it’s part of what gives the show it’s “reality.”

Nonetheless, it is not easy, and after shows like that, it takes a bit longer for me to get to sleep.

But when I wake, I have a new set of emotions I have to deal with, and that’s with being a daddy and a husband! Every morning, I wake up, I drag my butt into the kitchen and start breakfast and make lunches for my 8-year-old twin boys, Ty and Micah, while my wife gets them clean and dressed for school.

My one son, Ty, is always bubbly, funny and almost always starts the morning off with having in depth conversations with me about about Pokemon and who are his favorites. My other son sometimes walks past me and doesn’t say a word. He has autism. So I have to stop him and look him in the face and say “Good morning.” It takes him a moment sometimes, but then he flashes his beautiful smile and says “Good morning.”

This is something my wife and I have been dealing with since he was diagnosed when he was 1. You never think when you’re about to have a child, or in our case twins, that anything would be wrong with them. So you can imagine the pain, struggle, guilt of feeling like YOU did something wrong, the heartbreak, and tension between my wife and I during the first few years.

Micah, with an intense schedule of Occupational, Behavioral and Speech therapists, thankfully is getting better, but we still have a long way to go. Because of our empathy for parents who have kids with autism, my wife and I along with my group’s non-profit organization called “The Boyz II Men House,” created “Micah’s Voice” which supports parents with information, and funding for their kids with autism.

Besides that, and also taking care of our 20-month-old daughter Brooklyn, I’ve been working on my group’s first original album in 10 years due out in the United States on October 25!

This album marks our 20 years in the music business, thus the title of the album “TWENTY”!

Here’s an example of just another day in the life of a singer/ judge on a hit TV show: During one of the tapings of “The Sing-Off,” which ends pretty late, I was rushed off to LAX to catch a midnight flight to Xi’an, China, a 20-hour flight I might add, for a performance with my group in front of 40,000 people. I landed the same day of the show, just enough time to shower and take a little nap, and then I’m off to meet the rest of my group members to do our concert! Next day, I’m on the plane again to fly back to LA only to be there for approximately three hours before I have to catch another flight to Philly to do an appearance on the Rachael Ray show. After that, I fly back to LA to finish up mixes and final touches on the new album.

All of this in the midst of homework, school plays, non-profit organizing and still trying to find time to take my wife on an occasional movie and lunch date to keep some romantic connection intact!

Just another day at the office!

But in the midst of my personal dealings, whether good or bad, I realize that God has placed every one of them there for me to learn, develop and become someone greater than I ever imagined I would be! There are no such things as accidents, and whatever happened was supposed to happen. Our job on this earth is to discover the reason! I guess getting older and wiser allows you peace of mind with such truth. Outside of my life as a judge and an entertainer, I have found an even broader and equally fulfilling purpose with my wife and children! And for that, I would not change one thing!

Thanks for listening guys. Holla later!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- “Twilight” for adults only?

According to series star Kristen Stewart, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” was at one time too racy for minors.

“It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a ‘Twilight’ film. I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!’” the 21-year-old actress told the UK edition of Glamour in its December issue, when asked about the movie’s sex scenes.

“It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They re-cut it,” she explained of the movie, which also stars boyfriend Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

As for filming the movie’s pivotal wedding scene between Bella and Edward, the actress told the mag that it was top secret affair.

“I had to be shrouded in secrecy the entire two days of filming,” she said. “It was crazy… I was on full lockdown, as if I was wearing millions of dollars’ worth of diamonds.”

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” hits theaters on November 18, 2011.

The bride is expected to wear an “elegant” Marchesa gown, a source told E! News, a dress she chose over a vintage Chanel gown, which was also an option.

“It’s custom-made, white, and cost her $20,000,” the source told the website of Nicole’s wedding day pick.

Additionally, E! News reported that the beautiful bride will have Byron of Byron+Tracy do her hair.

Expected to be held at her dad, Lionel Richie’s Beverly Hills compound, E! News reported that Samantha Ronson will be a bridesmaid at the wedding, while Joel and Nicole’s adorable 2-year-old daughter, Harlow, will be the flower girl.

Diddy’s Son Headed To UCLA On Football Scholarship

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Diddy’s son is taking his talents to the football field.

Justin Combs, the hip-hop mogul’s son, is headed to UCLA on a full football scholarship, it was announced on Tuesday.

“Today I am truly blessed and thankful to accept my scholarship and give my full commitment to UCLA. Playing division I football was a lifelong dream of mine, and through hard work I was able to achieve it,” Justin said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “I am a living testament that with a strong relationship with God, family, and hard work dreams do come true.”

And while son may not exactly be following in dad’s musical footsteps – Diddy could not be prouder of UCLA’s new athletic star.

“As a parent, today is one of the proudest moments of my life. This is everything a father could want for his son, for him to excel at what he loves to do and is truly passionate about,” Diddy said in a statement released to Access. “Justin is a shining example of what hard work, determination and a strong mentality can achieve. I am honored to call him my son and am happy that he is fulfilling his dream.”

Justin, a 5’9”, 170 pound defensive back, had his choice of big time college programs to choose from – in addition to UCLA, he was also offered scholarships by the University of Illinois, the University of Virginia and the University of Wyoming.

The teen also boasted a 3.75 GPA in high school as a student at Iona Prep in New Rochelle, New York.

While UCLA has at least one of its stars-to-be locked up, what the school doesn’t have is a football coach for next year – on Monday, the school announced it was cutting ties with head coach Rick Neuheisel, following a 50-0 loss to crosstown rivals USC.

Justin won’t be the first son of a hip-hop star to play sports for a school in the West Coast’s Pac-12 conference – Master P’s son Romeo Miller (aka Lil’ Romeo) was a member of the basketball team for the University of Southern California in 2008-2009.

Rep: Amy Winehouse Checks Into Treatment Program

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Amy Winehouse sighted outside Cityburlesque, where her father was playing a gig, in London on October 7, 2010Caption Amy Winehouse sighted outside Cityburlesque, where her father was playing a gig, in London on October 7, 2010A representative for Amy Winehouse says the singer has checked into a treatment program in London.

Spokesman Chris Goodman said Friday that the 27-year-old songstress wants to be sure she’s ready to perform in Europe this summer.

The rep says she’ll stay at the clinic on “doctors’ advice.” It was not clear what treatment she’ll get at the Priory Clinic. It offers treatment for a range of psychiatric problems, as well as drug and alcohol addiction.

Winehouse’s breakthrough disc, 2006’s “Back to Black,” won her five Grammy Awards and helped her achieve worldwide stardom, but her music has been overshadowed by drug use and legal run-ins.

Winehouse has not released much music since, but she performed a short tour in Brazil in January.
