‘American Idol’s’ Lauren Alaina: ‘I Don’t Have A Boyfriend’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- “American Idol” runner-up Lauren Alaina might have kissed “Idol” winner Scotty McCreery when he was crowned the Season 10 champ on Wednesday night, but the county pair told Access Hollywood that they’re just friends.
“No, we’re not dating, I get asked that so much,” Lauren told Access on Thursday morning, saying her congratulatory kiss after Scotty’s win was simply due to “excitement.”
“People like to just make things out of nothing,” she continued. " We are really close, we’re just like best friends… I don’t have a boyfriend.”
The 16-year-old country cutie told Access that her newfound fame won’t necessarily mean that she’ll be getting a new guy in her life.
“My daddy doesn’t let me have boyfriends that often,” she said with a smile. “I’m a busy girl, I don’t have time for that.”
Scotty also shot down the romance rumors, telling Access on Friday, “I’ve been single for the last couple of years” and that he doesn’t have a special lady in his life.”
Adding, “Nobody, except my mama.”
Scotty and Lauren might not be involved, but the 17-year-old singer is hoping their professional relationship will blossom.
“Hopefully we’ll be working together, maybe put a duet out there or something,” the “Idol” champ said.
